In this text Bitzer defines rhetorical situation as “a complex of persons, events, objects, and relations presenting an actual or potential exigence which can lead to completely or partially removed if discouraged.” He associates the terms subject, audience, content, and speech to his definition. My definition of Rhetorical situation would be an act created by a writer that makes an issue to the audience to write or speak. An example of a rhetorical situation is Iron Man dying in the Marvels movie because he was a hero to everyone, and he was one of the main people in their group and he saves everyone then he dies. The writer made a subject which was Iron Man, an event him dying, and a issue which was also him dying and made the audience speak because they were sad about Iron Man dying.
Rhetorical Situations relate to genre because they can happen in many genres and make the audience exigence.
